Travel Vaccinations

global air travel

We are unable to provide travel advice, complex vaccination schedules, anti malaria recommendations or travel prescriptions.

This service lies outwith the General Medical Services Contract.

A very small number of travel vaccinations (Tetanus / Polio / Typhoid / Hepatitis A, Diphtheria,) can still be provided within the surgery.

Please access the destination listing below and print off the immunisation history and complete the travel form below. Both should be returned to reception and an appointment can be arranged with the practice nurse.

A form is required for each traveller. The practice requires one form per patient. An appointment will be arrange with the practice nurse, preferrably with a minimum of four weeks from date of request to date of travel, in the event of less that four weeks, you may have to attend an independent travel centre in the first instance. Details below of independent travel centres contact details

Once your form has been received by the Practice, one of the team will determine if you are already covered for the vaccines above or if you require to have any of these administered by the practice. If you are covered, the appointment will no longer be required and you will be contacted to cancel the appointment and advised to attend your chosen travel centre if required. There is currently no charge for consultation or administration of these vaccines in the surgery. If you require a record of previous immunisations or your immunisation record we can provide this, please ask at reception, there will be a non GMS charge for this.

Patients to arrange their own appointments directly with the travel centre of their choice. There may be a consultation charge for your initial enquiry with them.

The Practice Nurse is unable to advise on any of the recommended vaccinations or provide travel health advice and can only administer the aforementioned five vaccinations and give post vaccine advice for these.
