Welcome Tracy, our new Advanced Nurse Practitioner!

We are delighted to introduce Tracy, who has joined our team as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP). Tracy is an experienced and highly educated registered nurse who can manage the complete care of a patient, not solely any specific condition. She has completed a master’s level education and has been assessed as competent in advanced level practice.

As an ANP, Tracy has four pillars of practice: clinical practice, leadership, facilitation of learning, and evidence, research and development. She can perform comprehensive person-centred assessments of physical, mental, psychological and social needs, and make autonomous decisions using high level expert knowledge and skills. She can also prescribe for and refer patients within appropriate clinical areas.

Tracy can work in or across all clinical settings, depending on her area of expertise. She is part of our multidisciplinary team and collaborates with other health and social care professionals to provide safe, effective and person-centred care. She also contributes to the education and development of other staff members and participates in research and quality improvement activities. Tracy is one of the 500 additional ANPs that the Scottish Government has committed to support over four years between 2017 and 2021. This is part of the Transforming Nursing Roles programme that aims to enhance the role and function of ANPs in Scotland. The role of ANPs is also recognised by the Royal College of General Practitioners Scotland as a valuable addition to the primary care workforce. For more information please click here.

We are very excited to have Tracy on board and we look forward to working with her. Please join us in welcoming her and wishing her all the best in her new role!

When you call now with an ailment Tracy will be one of the clinicians working to help make you better.
